March 8, 2010 Monday at 7 PM.  The program will be a 30 minute video from the series "Living the Questions 2" titled the Myth of Redemptive Violence. It will feature Marcus Borg, John Dominic Crossan, Bishop Jophn Shelby Spong, and Sister Helen Prejean, the author of Dead Man Walking.  There is reading material in preparation that we will email you if you contact us at www.tombethill@comcast.net.  There will be time to dialogue the place of the Atonement Theory in our society and Chrisitianity.  Does it contribute to humanity's war mentality?  Come and join us.

Saturday, April 10, 2010, at 2 PM Father Roy Bourgeois will talk about Breaking the Silence: Shatter the Glass Ceiling, his promotion of women to the Catholic Priesthood.  It will be held at St. Mark's Cathedral, Bloedel Hall, 1245 Tenth Ave. East,  Seattle, 98102.  There is suggested Free Will Offering of $20 or as you are able.  Father Bourgeois is a Maryknoll Priest, founder of SOA March, human rights-activist, and outspoken advocate for Women's Ordination. Sunday, April 11, at 2 PM in Olympia Father Roy will be speaking to several groups including CTAWW, the Olympia World's Affairs Council, FOR, and from Evergreen State College the Latin American Student Organization and CISPES.  His topic will be A Struggle for Justice in Latin Ameirca.  The talk will be held at Evergreen State College, 2700 Evergreen Parkway NW, Olympia 98512 in Lecture Hall 1 which is connected to Red Square near the library. Parking is free on Sundays. Friday, May 7 2010, there will be a workshop at Seattle University Stuident Center, Room 160, led by Richard Gaillardetz; a teacher in the College of Arts and Science's: Religious.Studies Program at the University of Toledo. He is the author of seven books and has received numersous awards.  The workshop is titled Surviving in a Polarized Church: Spirituality for Living with Ecclesial Tension. Registration is at 9:30 and the sessions run from 10 to 3.  The event is sponsored by Catholic Ministers for Church renewal (www.catholicministers.org).
